Everyday lessons

Standing inside looking out over the lake we watched two ducks swimming across the water during a heavy rain.No foolin' around duck swam sure and straight for the bank,he seemed determined and also oblivious to anything but his goal.Happy duck seemed full of fun and joy also swimming for the bank but pausing to splash and dip his head under,he was having a joyful time it seemed,as we watched we people talked how humans are the same way,we talked about which one seems most like us.Both ducks got there to the bank at the same time but I couldn't help but feel a little sorry for no foolin' around duck that his joy I thought was not there.Truth be told though his joy might well have been there all along and I gotta admit I admire those that can be so focused and sure and not tempted to venture off their path,perhaps what is needed is a healthy balance and discernment and that led straight to me praying for those very things that I know we all need...as we turned to leave from watching one of us said to the other"ya know ya gotta watch out for the turtles", what a wise observation as our lives will surely bring turles that we must be mindful of.I thank Jesus so much for these teachings he offers us and I love Jesus and am most thankful for HIm,and for each of you and your sharing yourselves,love always in Christ
