Building is part of our DNA. I have often noticed that believers love a building project. Whether it is a physical building, like a church, or a spiritual building up of others, we are interested. Our national church in Burkina Faso has this same DNA and is jumping in to build a new church office complex. This building will serve as a meeting place for church leaders, a learning center for pastors, a place to buy books, and yes, maybe even a coffee shop!
Another part of our DNA is giving opportunity for all to be involved. When we build a church, we insist on local participation. Our national church President, Rev. Job Dao, has emphasized that everyone attending an Alliance church in Burkina Faso needs to be involved. We want this building to be for God’s glory and we want everyone to share in the joy of knowing they helped to see this building completed.
We understand that a church building is nothing unless the people and activities done in that building are for the honor of God’s name. But a building is important as it serves as a reference point, that place where people know they can come to meet with other believers and to learn more of what it means to be a Christ-follower.
Our Burkina Team is thankful for this aspect of our DNA and that we can be a part of what the Lord Jesus is doing to build His church.
