Matthew 9.35 "Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness."
One of the places that our team “goes” is to the local hospital. We continue to be able to walk through the wards and offer prayer for the sick. Not everyone accepts the offer of prayer, but even those who don’t, always thank us for visiting. We are called as missionaries to go, teach, and proclaim the Good News, but also to bring healing to the sick. We appreciate doing this ministry as a team, so that Christ is seen as the healer and not the person who is praying. Two weeks ago our hospital team prayed for this man. It started as a tooth ache and became an infection that caused swelling in his whole body. His face was so swollen that eating was almost impossible. No medication made a difference for him. After our team prayed, he began to see the swelling go down. As we were walking through the hospital compound a week later, his wife yelled from a window, “Come and see, come and see.” And here he was, sitting up, with almost all of the swelling gone. “We know it was prayer that healed him”, she said. “We know that Jesus has all power. We want to become Christ-followers.”
Jesus’ ministry has been passed on to us; go, teach, proclaim, and heal.
