"Jesus Christ, and Him crucified" - that's it!
Dying to myself and all that turns my head away from Him - like my concerns about my service, and the impact it may or may not have on others. That's idolotry!
Seeking His face - not His opinion. Keeping my gaze FIXED on Him. Not on me, or others.
Speaking with Him. Praising Him. Waiting on Him. Serving Him. Being obedient to Him. Laughing with Him. Crying with Him. Even being angry at our unbelief with Him.
When our focus is first and foremost, Jesus Christ and Him crucified, we have no need to be concerned about ourselves or whether we're doing things right. Because IF our focus or gaze is fixed solely on Jesus Christ, and Him crucified, we can rest in the fact that whatever needs to be done, will be. Even if we don't see it, feel it, or know it. Because it isn't about us.
It's really no more complicated than that.
Jesus Christ, and Him crucified!
