Maman Rebekah Pare was discipled by Alliance missioanries, Herb and Jessie Nehlsen. The Nehlsens were instrumental in helping many orphans and widows. This DNA was passed on and Maman Pare began to open her home to widows and orphans. She acquired a larger property, brought on full-time workers, and built more houses, and you could find up to one hundred children living in her compound. One day, one of the children came home from school and asked Maman Pare's husband why his last name was different from Papas. We are thankful for this DNA, passed down from Christ into the C&MA founders and then into missionaries and now on to believers, to help the orphan and the widow.
