The first ones to respond to the Gospel were a handful of girls. I visited this cell group in the village of Mahon and saw that the girls were now a group of about 12. In talking with them, we realized that there was a need for a sewing school, giving them practical skill training and an opportunity for continued learning in literacy. The school began this past fall. A pastor was assigned to this village, but the next big thing to happen in this church plant was the start of a Christian youth club. This will connect youth in the village of Mahon with Christian youth in nearby villages and cities. This youth club was all organized by our churches Christian club program. It might not be a church planting model for others, but it is working in this village, with church attendance over one hundred each week, with parents and other relatives giving a listen to the Gospel message. Praise the Lord with us for the increase in Christ-followers in the village of Mahon.
