Luke 4:40 reads, “As the sun went down that evening, people throughout the village brought sick family members to Jesus. No matter what their diseases were, the touch of his hand healed every one.” As we live and minister in a country that experiences continued insecurity, our concern is for all the people around us. No matter what their diseases, problems, difficulties, or religion, we seek to make a difference in their lives. When food distributions take place, though they are conducted at the church, all people in the community are welcome to participate. When we visit the hospital, we offer to pray for any and all that are sick. At the prison, when food or soap or other essentials are handed out, everyone is included. Our Christian schools see a huge percentage of students from non-Christian families. Our girls schools and deaf ministries benefit many that are from other religions. It has been in our Alliance DNA that our focus would be on the whole community, praying that our ministry would, in some way, influence all those around us. Our Burkina national church has made that a part of their DNA as well. One handicapped girl was brought to our sewing school. Her aunt asked the director if the girl could just come and sit with the other girls, instead of being at home by herself. A place was found for her. May our presence in Burkina or in any community or office or school or restaurant or store, be a presence that brings comfort, encouragement, and both physical and spiritual healing through our Lord Jesus Christ.
