"Help me to show concern for body, soul, and mind"

The missionary hymn "Increase my vision” is a prayer that our Lord Jesus would increase our vision for the whole of mankind. Showing concern for these three aspects of a person reflects the work that the Bobo Team is doing in Burkina Faso. Working in one of the poorest countries of the world means that we would be involved at local hospitals, that we would pray for the sick, encourage the Christian medical staff and chapel ministries, and provide medical help where needed. Being concerned for the mind means that we would be teaching and helping to build schools and equip teachers and classrooms. It means that we would help the deaf to be educated and provide learning opportunities for others who have not been able to attend school. Concern for the soul means Bible teaching and equipping pastors with the tools they need to minister to souls. It means Bible translation and the distribution of Bibles and Gospel tracts. All of this is surrounded with prayer that our vision would increase as we show concern for the body, soul, and mind of the peoples of Burkina Faso. As we look to model our team's ministry after that of the Lord Jesus, we see that He was often in the temple teaching, but also used a dinner table, a seat by the well, or even a meeting at night to teach about the Kingdom of God. He was concerned for the sick and took time to minster healing. He also noticed those troubled in mind, the demon possessed, the rich man, Zacchaeus, and a widow weeping over her dead son. In all these ways, our team works to present Jesus Christ as Savior (soul), sanctifier (mind), healer (body), and coming King who will make us complete in body, soul, and mind on that day when He returns.
