There is a line in "Peter's Song," by Steve McConnell--"They nailed Him to
a tree they made Him carry."
This is total rejection from men.
When upon that cross:
About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" that is, "MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?"
--Matthew 27:46
This appears to be rejection from God.
However, things are not always as they appear. That cross now appears
all over the world--in recognition of the great sacrifice of our Lord.
In addition, Jesus now sits at the right hand of the Father (Eph 1:20).
What is the point? Well, our world, even much of the USA, is now rejecting
Christ. At times it even appears that we are totally rejected as the world
scorns everything we believe. Then, as Satan mocks--masquerading as
a creature of light--we might feel rejected by God.
However, just as the Father glorified His Son, the Son will again be
glorified as He appears in the clouds (Mark 13:26).
God has not forsaken us! Though the world is dark, God is still light
without any darkness at all (1 John 1:5).
So, if you are facing a trial. If you feel rejected--please know that God knows.
God is still God. Look up--our redemption draws very near (see Luke 21:28).
