There is a line in "Peter's Song," by Steve McConnell--"They nailed Him to

a tree they made Him carry."

This is total rejection from men.

When upon that cross:

About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" that is, "MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?"

--Matthew 27:46

This appears to be rejection from God.

However, things are not always as they appear. That cross now appears

all over the world--in recognition of the great sacrifice of our Lord.

In addition, Jesus now sits at the right hand of the Father (Eph 1:20).

What is the point? Well, our world, even much of the USA, is now rejecting

Christ. At times it even appears that we are totally rejected as the world

scorns everything we believe. Then, as Satan mocks--masquerading as

a creature of light--we might feel rejected by God.

However, just as the Father glorified His Son, the Son will again be

glorified as He appears in the clouds (Mark 13:26).

God has not forsaken us! Though the world is dark, God is still light

without any darkness at all (1 John 1:5).

So, if you are facing a trial. If you feel rejected--please know that God knows.

God is still God. Look up--our redemption draws very near (see Luke 21:28).

Hi Jesus_Lolly,

This world is darkening quickly.  It seems so to me.  I think of dark times after Christ's resurrection.  Years later, Romans burning Christians like candles.  Now, we have Christians killed all over, beheaded, set on fire.

In the US, we will see worse persecution yet.  If the church must take herself underground so to speak, let it be so.  The house church thrives in China, N. Korea, and other nations where persecution is strong.

I feel like people will jump all over me for this, but I welcome it.  I welcome the fall of the self-centered church that isn't real.

Be well,

Candice

I really needed this thread. God knows.

My internal struggle, in times of battle with dark principalities has never been to question that God can rescue me. My doubts center on my worthiness. Maybe He won't this time because I am not worthy to be rescued. And then I conclude - which is a drive of my personality - I have to conclude, to reach an answer that satisfies the point - what is the point then? I conclude that of course I am not worthy but He is and even though He slay me I will serve Him because He is worthy

Whatever His will is for all my conclusions - that is what I accept. He didn't promise us that it would be easy. He promised He would hold us while we suffer the slings and arrows.
