Many of you know that my family and I have been going through a crucible lately. Sometimes I get confused about the day of the week or I repeat prayer requests I've already shared because things are so crazy. But guess what? God is still on the throne. He's still in control, and He's still Lord over all. He's Lord over every crazy situation and circumstance we find ourselves in. He's exalted over our car situation, my family's health issues, our medical bills, and everything else. And He's shown us His favor, grace, mercy, and blessing time and time again as we've walked through deep waters. After our car died, a dear brother and sister in Christ loaned us theirs for two weeks while they were overseas. We were able to get to doctors appointments, dental checkups, and even pick up my mother-in-law's urn after she died because we had a vehicle during that time. On top of that, I have coworkers who faithfully drive me to work. I can tell story after story of God's help and grace during times of need. He even made a way for my husband and me to attend a five-course dinner at one of our favorite dining establishments for free ("you set a feast before us in the sight of our foes"). This is what is meant by God's favor. It is real, and it can be experienced even in the midst of great hardship. I can't sing His praises enough. Happy Thanksgiving, my friends!
