He's in the nursing home and appears to have given up on getting better. My step-mom said, "Every day, he's giving up another inch." He won't even feed himself now and she said that before he got sick, he didn't want to do anything for himself. The only time he did any exercise was when the physical therapists came but he wouldn't do what he was supposed to do by himself between sessions. When he does eat, he will only have a bite. He is also exhibiting signs of dementia. So Betty is being asked by the nursing home to make a very difficult choice: to sign him in permanently or have him rehabilitated so eventually he can come home. She has no idea what to do and will be meeting with an elder lawyer tomorrow to get some advice. She doesn't want to give up on him, but there is no way she can care for him in this condition (she couldn't even lift him off the bed or pick him up if he fell). Her concern is that she could get hurt trying to care for him, and I agree she shouldn't take that risk. Please pray for wisdom and God's mercy. Thanks!

Oh, my, Julie, it sure doesn't get any easier for them or fo you.

Still praying that there be healing. God is the wisest of us all. This is so challenging for your dad and step-mom. And for you. I'm so sorry.

I want to live my life so that every morning

Thanks for praying for healing, RuthAnn! That is my prayer as well. God healed him miraculously before and can do so again. I am sure this an attack of the enemy and am claiming all the promises God gave me before for Dad's healing. My prayer is for abundant life for him until God takes him home.
