My wife of over 31 years, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer last August(2013). Surgery is not an option. doctors initially gave her 6-9 months to live. She has surpassed that.

A little background: I was saved about 6 years into our marriage. My wife has, up until recently been uninterested in the things of God, Christ, or His Church.

We now, for the first time in our marriage, pray together, and of course we pray for healing. But, after reading Francis Chan,  my prayer, is also, that God is glorified no matter what happens. It has been difficult, needless to say, for her, but also for us financially, and I have to work whatever OT I can, in addition to caring for her, and any additional household chores.

Pray for Sherri. Thank you.

Robo
What is your real name, if you don't mind sharing

I pray mightily for you and Sherri for The Fathers best and His supernatural blessing that will far surpass both of your understanding and bring you closer to each other and to Him

Hospice is a good option if you do not have family help or home care by a skilled nurse. Hospice can be started up stopped and repeated in some cases as can home health care

Praying for your rest

I agree with the above, hospice was literally a God-send when my husband needed it

Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us.

We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair;

we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed.

My first name is Roy. The home nursing agency has discussed hospice with us. We have the option of having home hospice if we wish. Thanks for your prayers

Robo,

May the Lord give you and Sherri the strength you both need for each day. I pray that Sherri's understanding of the things of heaven will deepen, no matter what the earthly outcome. Lord, we do ask though for your healing of her body, In Jesus name. May you help Roy to not be discouraged as he has to persevere as well for both himself and Sherri. May your grace abound for every need in their lives, physical, spiritual and material. Amen

She has been on chemo treatments since the diagnosis- 3weeks on, 1 off. The doctor says chemo treatments are indefinite. Her 1st PET scan after treatments showed a lot of improvement, but the last one kind of leveled off.

Father God, You created Sherri. You formed her and knit together her inward parts in the womb. You alone know how to heal her. I pray that as her Creator, you will touch Sherri's body with your healing power and restore her to complete health. Let your mighty power envelop Sherri and bring the healing that is needed.

In the powerful Name of Jesus, we rebuke this pancreatic cancer and we command health and healing to enter into Sherri's body. We speak life over Sherri! We declare that the Lord our God shall quicken Sherri's mortal body to divine health and that no weapon formed against her shall prosper.

Father, Sherri’s body belongs to you and has been bought with a price, the precious blood of Jesus. Your Word says that by His stripes, she is healed. We stand on that promise for Sherri, and we release the healing power of Jesus into her body.

Thank you, Jesus, that You are the Great Physician. Nothing is too difficult for you. Lord Jesus, you have been exalted as Lord over all. That includes sickness and disease. In your Name and through the power of your shed blood, we command this mountain of cancer to be removed! Thank you, Jesus, for carrying this cancer in your body when you died on the cross. Thank you for being Sherri's healer! In Jesus' name, amen!

"For you have delivered her from death and her feet from stumbling, that she may walk before God in the light of life" (Psalm 56:13)

Sherri has been having bladder issues-pressure in that area. The oncologist has sent her to an urologist, and right now they are treating it as an infection. however the antibiotics don't seen to be helping. Thanks for your prayers. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective(James 5:16)

I haven't been on here in a while, I apologize, but here's an update:
Sherri, despite getting good blood tests, was deteriorating physically, to the point where she couldn't hardly walk. In October, we were discussing Hospice care, and planning on meeting them Oct 11. On the afternoon of Oct 10, she began to have breathing problems, and was taken by squad to the hospital, and she passed away the following morning.

I am glad, she made a commitment to follow Christ, but disappointed that she never had much of a chance to live it here on earth. I miss her, but definitely understand now, when people say that death is the ultimate healing. I would not want her back here in the horrible condition she was in, and figure she is in Heaven, working for, and praising her Lord. If it were me, I would have thought to myself "Why didn't I follow Him sooner?"

Once again, I am sorry for not posting. She kept me very busy in her last months, and I forgot I had posted a prayer request here. Thanks for your continued prayers.

Roy, I am so terribly sorry! I rejoice with you that Sherri is in heaven with her Savior, but my heart aches for your loss. I recently lost my dad the same day he entered hospice care (my stepmom had just signed the paperwork and he was in the program 15 minutes before he took his last breath), so I understand how hard this is.

Please don't fee bad about not posting sooner. I've been a caregiver, and I know how crazy it can be and how easy it is to forget things when you are in that situation (sometimes I would forget what day of the week it was). I pray that Jesus will be your consolation and peace during this very difficult time.

Also, try not to feel too sad that Sherri did not have many years to walk with Jesus on this earth - she will have millions upon millions of years to walk side-by-side with Him in heaven! My mom received Jesus during her last year on earth, and I am sure she has no regrets about the years she didn't follow Him. Just some thoughts to encourage you.

Thank you, Ruth Ann, and Julie, for your prayers, and words of encouragement. Her last 2 1/2- 3months, were very stressful. And yes, the days would run into each other, and I would forget what day it was. Sometimes going to work, was the most peace you could experience.
