I made a vow to God and I broke it. I pray that God forgives me without suffering dire consequences. Im very sorry.

I have been presented with an awesome opportunity to be on TV, lose weight and a chance to win the $250,000 grand prize. Im praying for God's favor in the situation. The weight loss and the financial blessing would be a tremendous blessing for me and my children. (I am a 100% Tither)

Praying with you for favor, as well as freedom from guilt and condemnation. If you've trusted in Jesus as your Savior, all your sins are under His blood and there is no need to be afraid. Rest in His love and His grace!

". . . as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us" (Psalm 103:12).

"There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1).

Hello Plain Jane

The following portion of a lengthy commentary on this topic seems like it might be applicable as well as supported by Scripture.

" OK! So what if someone has made a vow/oath to God and decides to break it? Can he/she be forgiven? First off, I would say that the Bible says that there is NO sin that is unforgivable (save for Blasphemy Of The Holy SpiritMt 12:31Mk 3:29Lk 12:10). Therefore, obviously, breaking a vow/oath to God CAN be forgiven. We must come before Him with true repentance, confessing our sin and God will be "faithful and just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 Jn 1:9)."

Yes, but God will bring it to mind until it is fulfilled.

Been there, Done that, read the book, saw the movie and got the t-shirt for it.

We all fall short of God’s glory. Even the most dedicated believer and follower falls short. It’s in part of our human nature of sin and the world we live in. Being a believer / follower does not remove our shortcomings or clears us from our ability to sin. So with that in mind, don’t be so hard upon yourself when you should sin or fall short. Be grateful that our God loves us so much that he will forgive us and ask him for forgiveness. Keep going as a believer and never stop trying to walk in his path.
