Thanks again for praying for my family members who are ill. My mother-in-law seems to be doing better. She sounded very good the last time we spoke on the phone over the weekend, and she hasn't complained of any new symptoms. Praise the Lord!

My dad (Hank) is still struggling, however. My stepmom says he is weak and shaky. Also, he is not very cooperative with his health care providers. He had a physical therapist who would come to the home, but he wouldn't do his exercises alone so she stopped coming. He probably won't do them because he's tired all the time. He is supposed to elevate his legs as well, but he won't do it.

There is a machine that monitors him so he can get immediate medical attention if he needs it, so that's good.

My husband learned that congestive heart failure is often caused by a selenium deficiency, so he strongly suggested that my dad start taking selenium. But my stepmom hasn't contacted his doctor to get clearance for him to take this supplement. I'm not sure why she's put this off. We've been telling her this for years. After my dad had congestive heart failure three times, I would hope they might be more open to other alternatives, especially since his current medication (water pills) have caused him to develop polycystic kidneys (a type of kidney failure).

So pray continue to pray for complete healing, as well wisdom and strength for both of them. Thank you!

Praying that the Lord will give you just the right words of encouragement.  He is able to do above and beyond and we trust Him to do that in the lives of your parents.

Julie, I'm glad that things are somewhat better. I pray your father's difficulties will be removed by Christ's blood and his believing on Him alone. Hope he starts to listen to you and tries alternatives for his healing.
