Thankful to serve the God who is joy and who understands how important laughter and cheerfulness are to the healing process.  We prepared 300 bags to distribute in the children's wing at our local hospital.

As we made our way through the wards, some with children suffering beyond what could be imagined, the sadness and despair turned to joy.  As little stuffies were pulled from the bags, even adults got in on the fun.  The place seemed to come alive with laughter.  One little girl just hugged and hugged a bright pink elephant bringing some funny comments from her father.

We were pulled from room to room to pray for first one child and then another who were well beyond whatever help this overtaxed hospital and staff could give.  I looked out the window and saw a group of men beginning to gather around one of our Christian women who was explaining the gospel using a small brochure we were making available.

We know that the joy of Christ will bring healing to many of these and strength to those beside the bed caring for their loved one.  How we praise God for taking us among the sick today and for allowing us to bring that important medicine of cheerfulness.
