How many Spiritually holy people do you know? How about ourselves? (Ouch)!! Are we Spiritually holy? What does it mean to be Spiritually holy? I see two major aspects to this concern. First, to be truly holy requires that we spend much time in the things of God. As to the things of God, the number one essential is spending much time with Jesus. Remember that the Holy Spirit's highest priority is to exalt Jesus in our hearts and lives. The second aspect is to flee worldliness. John warned us in I John 2:15, "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." Time spent examining our daily lives in the light of that Scripture might reveal the need of some urgent changes in our affections. Indeed, are we living on the edge, the border between surface Christianity and authentic Christian experience? My pastor, many years ago,  said something very timely. He said that many folks have just enough Christianity to inoculate themselves against the real thing. Living on the edge neither impresses the world, nor wins the approval of the Savior. Isn't it time to determine what is to engage our wholehearted devotion? Elijah laid it on the line in I Kings18:21. He said to the people, "....How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow Him: but if Baal, then follow him...." Paul, in II Corinthians 6:17 wrote, "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you." Selah! Let's move away from the edge and into a life of true holiness.    Ron

Reminds me of what I heard a preacher say tonight. He said that if we put our will to God's will that we would end up getting what our will wants because it is the same as God's will! We end up getting what we want! To think that for so long I was afraid to daily be really serious to ask what God's will for my life because I was afraid it might be something that I did not want. Got serious about asking for God's will when I quit citing the Lord's prayer dutifully and repetitively so I could tick off "I said my prayer today" on my daily Pharisaical legal religious duties check list.

Shalom,
