This post comes directly from our church prayer chain as we've been concerned and praying for this new believer in Christ who lives in a remote part of India and is known by a missionary family there. She has been deeply persecuted for her faith in Christ and is, basically, being held hostage and asked to deny Christ....
Here's a quick update on Swrjila.
I received word yesterday that Swrjila has been allowed a little freedom, that the village authority has loosened their grip a little. She may soon be able to return to college and this may lend to a future break in her situation. More than that I dare not say. At present she has been told the family and authorities are searching out a suitable Hindu mate for her. As you are probably aware forced marriage is quick and common here and in many villages it is the norm. She will be left to endure this situation but for the grace of God and the continued efforts of her (our) brothers and sisters in Christ. Efforts are being made and a plan is developing, but I can not elaborate nor discuss it any further. Your prayers are greatly needed. Pray for patience, wisdom and supernatural guidance and blessings from above. Hopefully Swrjila will be allowed to go back to college and continue in her education... there is more hope in that statement than you can imagine.

Jesus,
I plead for my sister in India! Please intervene quickly in a supernatural way! Please take her to safety and cover her with Your protection! Please give wisdom and guidance to those around her.
Thank You Lord Jesus!
amen.

In The Pursuit of God, A. W. Tozer writes, "Jesus taught that He wrought His works by always keeping His inward eyes upon His Father. His power lay in His continuous look at God (John 5:19-21)."
