Thank you all for praying for my dad during his recent hospitalization. God miraculously and quickly answered those prayers! Last night I was going to call my stepmom to see if I can get a number for him in the hospital, and he answered the phone! He got home from the hospital on Aug. 14 and is 90% better- he says he feels great! It turns out he doesn't have Parkinson's but something similar that is not as severe and is treatable with medication.

The other problems (kidney, heart, and also lung and liver issues that I was not aware of) were all the result of having been given the wrong antibiotics when he went to a walk-in clinic to treat a serious infection from a cut on his toe. The medication made him terribly sick. Among other things, he was tired all the time, and his legs were sluggish. That's why he fell in the shower. All of those problems have been resolved, and he says he feels better than he has in weeks (he sounded great!). Interestingly, if he hadn't fallen so bad, my stepmom would not have called 911, he would not have been hospitalized, and he never would have known he was given the wrong medication and received the treatment he needed. So God really worked everything for good in this situation - including a bad fall!

In The Pursuit of God, A. W. Tozer writes, "Jesus taught that He wrought His works by always keeping His inward eyes upon His Father. His power lay in His continuous look at God (John 5:19-21)."

Julie, still giving thanks and praying for the whole family. Your share about granddaughter, and son, I just felt that your Dad and Stepmom had so much going on and still believe that we are to pray for individual family members as God brings it to mind to do so. God bless you and Lori for sharing and the other people too. Reckon ya know what I mean and perhaps can't post it very well... our sharing post just makes each person special. Reckon it's part of being in God's family ... O thank you LORD for blessings us with a place to share and get acquainted.... What a fellowship..... song lines came to mind a wee bit.... And we do lean on HIs Everlasting Arms.... Julie, thank you for sharing and for posting praise reports... I'm not posting clearly but trust the Holy Spirit will make it more plain than my words can... God be blessed. Love and Prayers, Ginger

Julie,
I'm so glad to hear that all is well (at least 90%) with your dad; amen!

Thank you, everyone, for praying and for rejoicing with me! Ginger, I loved what you wrote about the Everlasting Arms. In recent weeks, God has been bringing that verse to mind numerous times as I've faced various difficulties and concerns. Thank you for reminding me that I can lean on the Lord in every situation!
