Just going to post thoughts that may be of a different perspective. Some years back I'd been watching TV and not thinking too much about good or evil or right or wrong... Just had a question come to mind... Q) Why are you so depressed? Began to just think about the Q and the answer that came for me was even thought I was not sinning I was having my mind and body affected by watching TV. Even though justice was being portrayed as the end result all of the happenings had an affect on me personally. I just needed to be edified and lifted up rather than focusing on a program that 'seemed' okay. It was not okay for me personally because it affected my energy and the effects were depleting and depressing. Seems as I observed without a right or wrong judgment and not aware of praying or seeking the LORD things began to change and then I was listening to audio books (Attributes of God, In Pursuit of God, and some others...). Then I became aware that what I see and hear make a difference much like the little song, be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear.... So as an older person I do admit that I am individually affected. Even when my daughter was a teen she'd be watching something on the TV that she'd say, "Mom, you don't want to hear this."... So what affects one person may not affect another or perhaps the effects are not consciously recognized. I'm neither ignorant or smart just one of God's children trying to love a little better and be more sensitive to the Holy Spirit ... Mostly this effort of being more sensitive is a prayer more than a conscious effort. I'm just saddened by all the years I've missed wanting to know what God wants me to do to change what I can and come to Jesus about whatever I'm needing to know about. Just to be taught of the LORD and love folks like He does...Well, this may be a run-together convoluted mess and it's still all I'm able to do at this moment in time. Thank you for letting me share... God Bless.

Well said Ginger. I think you used much wisdom there.
In The Pursuit of God, A. W. Tozer writes, "Jesus taught that He wrought His works by always keeping His inward eyes upon His Father. His power lay in His continuous look at God (John 5:19-21)."

Throughout the gospels, Jesus would feast, drink and associate with tax collectors, prostitutes and sinners of many varieties. He wasn't partying just to be partying, but instead was using it as an avenue through-which he could, in turn, speak into peoples lives.

WHAT?? There is no where in the scriptures any verse that states or implies that Jesus partying with anyone. He associated (by tax collectors, sinners...) listening to Him speak, but please show me chapter and verse where in scripture that reads that Jesus did what they did...drinking, partying, whatever... It's not the same thing!
Does not mean he did what they did!

That latest box office hit, Christian-media proclaimed movie had large sections that could not be more appropriately described than "pornographic".  I had not read the book, but heard it, and the movie much proclaimed, and knew the basic plot, and conclusion.  The fact that the main theme of the story was evidently to demonstrate forgiveness and grace, was effectively polluted by those long pornographic scenes. Even if you close your eyes, you can hear the vulgar dialogue and lyrics. There is nothing redeeming enough in the movie to justify filling your mind with that pornography. The idea that Christians need to partake of that in order to develop a dialogue, conversation or "relationship" with unbelievers is a deception straight from Satan.
Christians are commanded to proclaim the gospel, and thus must engage in conversation with unbelievers, but that can be done without polluting your mind with the obscenities of such "entertainment". You will not find any Biblical directive to participate, or make the observing of their orgies and vulgarities for entertainment.  Yes, the movie makers and the musicians can be very talented, and that talent can be used to entice people into sin.

The apostle John wrote concerning the resurrection of believers in Christ:

"Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,[a] we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure."  1John 3:2-3
