Today, one wonders if there is any substantial difference in attitudes, values, fears, worries and the behavior of those professing faith in our Lord Jesus and the average "worldling." There is a profound difference, in many Christians' lives. On the other hand, there are many who claim to be saved and yet talk the same way, dress the same way, behave the same way and go to the same places that unsaved people do. We should ask ourselves if we have we opened our hearts to the Holy Spirit's promptings to holiness of life and character? If not, what do we have in our daily lives that would generate a desire for the quality of life that the Spirit's indwelling Presence affords? We probably have little or nothing to offer. If we are walking closely with our Lord, it will show. Even if ridiculed and resisted, it usually will still make an impact. Peace in trials, confidence in God's love and care, hope for the future, joy in the life that doesn't depend on circumstances and clean living are some of the things that might speak to empty, discouraged and purposeless people for whom Christ died. God grant that His people be stirred to Holy living and loving by the reviving power of the Holy Spirit. Ron Pinkham

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God" (II Corinthians 6:17-17:1).

Thanks so much for this reminder...I've thought that no major move of God (see revival) started without a significant outpouring of repentance and prayer.
