About a week ago, I received a prayer request for field workers in Mali who were affected by the political unrest in the country. I shared this request via email with members of our congregation, as well as some other local Alliance churches. Some of the prayer warriors have asked for an update - can someone send me an email with an update on the health and safety our field workers and believers in Mali. Thanks much.

Hi David. You can find all the information we have received on our Mali Coup Update story under the "News&Stories" tab. Additional stories as they become available are added in the Related Stories box. In addition, there is a giving link on that page that will enable gifts to the Mali Crisis Fund and will be used to underwrite the evacuation costs.

Sorry to be a pest, but people who've been asked to pray have asked for updates, so I thought I'd check back on the status of Mali - the last update on www.cmalliance.org was on April 9th, so does anyone know if there's newer info on our workers and believers in Mali?

Thanks in Christ,

Dave

Here is the latest update in the weekly C&MA prayer requests, which was posted April 16.

Mali Coup Update
Continue to pray for Mali following sanctions that were imposed after the army staged a coup last month. “Over the past week, there was some improvement in the news coming out of Mali,” an Alliance worker writes. “The military reinstated the constitution and was working to hand back the government to elected politicians. However, stories coming out of the north are disturbing and cause much concern for Christians.”
Pray for:
1. Lasting peace in the government
2. Protection of civilians and national believers, especially in the north where there are reports of killings and rapes by rebel soldiers
3. Safety and peace of mind for international workers who are evacuating
4. A special anointing and portion of divine health, energy, and grace for those remaining in Koutiala to keep the hospital running
