What has God been teaching me

But...amidst all our trials, God showed Himself not only to be very real, but very faithful to His word! He has moved in so many ways that it would take far too much time to explain here. And He moved in ways that none of us could fathom, nor that none of us could refute! And He did this not only in front of me and in my life, but in front of my children and in their lives as well!
He has truly turned this season of our lives into pure wonder at His strength, His faithfulness, and His Word!
Please pray that He continues to do what only He can, and that He keeps revealing more of Himself in our lives! And please pray for my first upcoming missions trip in March, to Monterrey, Mexico. I am truly blessed to have been chosen by Him to participate in serving Him in the way!
Amen!

My name is Carolyn and I am new to this site. God has been teaching me since August 2010 to be totally dependent on Him, and Him alone, not on anyone else and not on myself! My husband of twenty years decided to leave us, and by his leaving decided not to remain amicable and has pretty much left our three children behind as well.

Carolyn,
I appreciate your testimony. He is certainly faithful; and there is no sweeter revelation than learning about His immediacy and complete sufficiency. I too learned how to draw near to Him during my most severe trials. I would not trade those days for anything. Indeed, for it was actually the trials that helped me discover the deep, deep things of God. He draws us beneath His wings and hovers over us as a gentle Father. What an awesome God we have! Thanks for sharing! You are a blessing. I will certainly pray for all of you in the days ahead.

Hi Carolyn. Welcome to the site!
And thank you for the great reminder of God's faithfulness while in the middle of a trial. My mother-in-law had a stroke June 10, 2011 and we have been driven to our knees every day. Some days are teary, some are filled with laughter. The passage I have clung to is when Jesus asks his disciples if they too would leave him after he shared some hard teaching. Their response is what I have held on to...
After this a lot of his disciples left. They no longer wanted to be associated with him. Then Jesus gave the Twelve their chance: "Do you also want to leave?" Peter replied, "Master, to whom would we go? You have the words of real life, eternal life. We've already committed ourselves, confident that you are the Holy One of God." (John 6:66-67)

Dear Carolyn,
Praise God for His faithfulness! He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:50; He works all things together for our good (Romans 8:28); His grace is sufficient; and His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). I join with you in prayer for His protection, provision, and answers to prayer exceedingly abundantly beyond what we could ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

Praise the Lord that you persevere, and rely on Him for guidance in life. You are not alone, as there are many souls today who are wounded due to infidelity and spouses that are not practising the Christian way of life. Many have separated due to the consequences faced in reality, and our only hope is the Lord. Mankind may leave us, forsaking us all at once, but the Lord shall never forsake us. His promise is true and binding in our lives throughout eternity.
I am new here as well, and wish to convey my prayers for you and your beloved children to Our Most Beloved God above. May He give you strength to soar on eagle's wings, fulfilling your prayers according to His Mighty Riches in glory.
