Marriage restoration - My wife and I have been married 28 years - earlier this year she asked for a separation. I moved out in late August, the day after we took our only daughter to college for her first year. I am working with a counselor who has been helping to grow and heal from many years of issues. I don't want a divorce! I love my wife. We do talk and see each other several times a week. We are in joint counseling, but meet only 1 every 5 weeks. Please pray that both of us will find healing and strength and that our marriage be restored.

Dear dfbsbv,

God loves to answer the prayers of His children and will answer "Yes!" when those prayers are in line with His perfect will. We know that He divinely ordained marriage as a picture of the relationship of His Son with His bride, the church. His will is to preserve a marriage between a man and woman who both know and love Him. So if you and your wife are both saved, and if you are both in agreement that you want Him to restore the marriage, you can have faith that He will do so, by allowing the love you have for one another to reflect His perfect, self-sacrificing agape love.

I will pray for you both.

Lord,
I praise You. Thank You. Come, Holy Spirit. I touch and agree. I bind on earth what you bind in Heaven. I loose on earth what you loose in Heaven. They belong to Jesus. Satan has no hold on them. I rebuke Satan in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Jesus, I plead your blood over this marriage. I speak to this couple's bodies, minds and spirits and by the authority of the blood of Christ, I command them to be in obedience to Christ Jesus. Rebuild their temples of praise. Pull down the strongholds of their hearts and crush their idols. Pass them through fire and water. Holy Spirit, blow out their temples with your rushing wind. God, fill them with your Spirit, three portions full, and a fourth portion to overflowing with rivers of your Living Water. Jesus, give them your eyes for one another. Pour out your oil over this marriage, their first ministry. May he love her like Christ loves the Church. May she respect him. Spread your tent over them like a banner. Hallelujah! In Jesus' precious name, amen and amen!
