After much hard work, the walls to the church in Toni were completed. The believers were already anticipating our Alliance missions contribution in putting the roof on. But strong winds and heavy rains quickly turned their work into rubble. The discouragement was tangible as we recently visited this site and viewed the rubble. Will you pray with us the words of Haggai chapter one? That the Lord would spark the enthusiasm of this group of God's people and that they would courageously begin to work on the house of their God again? Would you pray that they would hear the Lord saying, "Now get to work, for I am with you, and my Spirit remains among you, just as I promised"? We believe in a God who brings beauty from ashes and useful buildings from rubble for His glory.

This looks so discouraging. "Lord, speak to these brothers and sisters words of YOUR encouragement. Provide over and above what they need in miraculous ways. May they work cheerfully and faithfully to rebuild and so glorify your name. Keep them from grumbling; instead may they sing your praises as they work."
