Harry and Jane Landaw, field leaders for Japan, report that Alliance workers are safe after an 8.9 earthquake struck Japan on Friday, March 11, 2011, triggering a devastating tsunami. "God protected us all," says Jane. "Harry called all our C&MA workers, and all are fine. We haven't heard of any C&MA churches destroyed. Pray that God will keep us all through the night, as more tsunamis are expected. We continue to have major tremors here since the initial quake at 2:40 in the afternoon; ours are minor compared to those in the north." Pray, too, that God will use this tragedy to draw many Japanese to Himself.

So sorry to hear this news. Will definitely begin praying for our workers and the people of Japan.

I will most definitely be praying. Also, if anyone is looking to make a donation, you can read more at The Alliance relief and development page

PRAISE GOD FOR HIS PROTECTION UPON ALL OF YOU! TODAY AS I WAS SITTING IN A TRAFFIC JAM HERE IN JAKARTA I PRAYED ONCE AGAIN FOR HIS PROTECTION UPON ALL HIS CHILDREN IN JAPAN. MAY OUR LORD GIVE ALL OF YOU WISDOM IN KNOWING HOW TO MINISTER TO SO MANY HURTING PEOPLE. MAY MANY JAPANESE LOOK TO JESUS DURING THIS VERY DIFFICULT TIME.

The massive quake in Japan generated a tsunami that struck Chiles coast with a tidal surge as high as 12 feet in some locations inundating a number of small towns. No lives lost as far as we know at this time. The spiritual climate in Chile is receptive to the gospel as people continue to live with a sense of insecurity for the future. People are much more likely to take seriously the claims of the Bible as they search for answers. Please pray as we approach Easter for salvation for those who are searching. Under the Same Wings
