A number of people in the Alliance family have prayed for Shannon, my stepmom's granddaughter (who is now my little sister since my parents adopted her). After losing her birth mother to cancer, Shannon was abandoned by her father and was later abused by the aunt and uncle who initially adopted her. About four years ago, my dad and stepmom (both believers) obtained legal custody of Shannon, and they adopted her last year. In recent months, she was hospitalized with asthma and pneumonia. She was also going through a very rough time emotionally and felt that her life had no meaning. She had a very hard time believing in God because of everything she had been through (the fact that her abusive aunt and uncle were professing Christians didn't help).
Since then, a dramatic change has taken place in Shannon. The following link is to a youtube video she posted on Facebook today. The fact that she would post something like this shows just how much the Lord has been at work in her life. She is very involved in her church youth group and sings with the worship band (that's how she found out about the song in the video). Thanks so much for your prayers – please keep them up as God brings Shannon to your mind. She will turn 13 in April.

Thank you so much for that update! It's so good to hear! Hallelujah!
The Lord has special things for Shannon, I think. It's those who have been in the hard places that he places to help others. Of course I'll keep her in my prayers.

I want to live my life so that every morning
when I wake up Satan says, "Oh, no! She's awake!
