In"Psalm 8," David marvels at the majesty of Lord, who uses the weak to overthrow the mighty. In this hymn of praise, he exalts the glorious Lord of heavens, whose name is wonderful and above all names. The psalmist considers the dignity of manking as Lord's representative on earth, without noting the fall's consequences of chaos and rebellion and concludes the with a note of priase.
The beginning and ending of the psalm give the same exclamation of Lord's majestic. From nursing babies to heavenly bodies God is Lord of all. His name which reveals his character is exalted above all creation: "O Lord our Lord how excellent is thy name in all earth! Who hast set thy glory above heavens(1)" In this Psalm, one could easily see the personal relationship that David had with his God because he addressed Him by his personal name "Yahweh" and then, he identified God as "our Lord" "Adonay," the Sovereign or Master. When he observed the great work of creation which declares the glory of God, his power, his majesty and his goodness, David could not contain himself without asking that question: What is man; that thou art mindful of him? Here the psalmist wondered why God, the almighty, was so interested in man, a finite, mortal, weak creature? He could not understand why God loves man so much that he gives him so much power over his creation. This is a mystery that defies all human intelligence. Yet God cares for us immensely and gives us dominion over his creation: "For thou hast man to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet (6)."
The more I meditate this psalm, the more I glorify God because I get closer to Him and feel blessed that I have someone in heaven which is the creator of all things, the self-existence, the active one, the everything I need in every circumstance loves me unconditionally. I was created as God's own representative on earth, over his creation. I feel blessed that the Lord of the universe even thinks about man and put man in a place of honor on his creation. Who am I for Lord to care so much for me?

What's blessing! Should I cry or praise him?
