Please pray for those who are working with international students at universities throughout the U.S.Pray also that the Church will see the need to interact with them. Many have never heard about Jesus. At this time there are close to 3/4 million of these students. The majority of them have never been into any American's home.

What an amazing opportunity...the world comes TO US! I was an international student in Hong Kong and a family took me under their wing. It really made an impression on me! We cannot miss this opportunity.

Just want to chime in with agreement on this. Since being back in the US (since last June), this is one area that has become abundantly clear to me. From a strategic perspective, it seems critical to me that we intentionally reach those who have come to here to study. The students who are studying here in the US will be leaders in their home country. Find a way to make it happen in Santa Rosa, Howard! I hope others will in College and University towns across the US.

I am assuming you go to the Santa Rosa Alliance Church, Howard? If so, tell Pastor John "hi" from me! He's visited Mongolia a couple of times...

Not only is the college campus one of the most strategic mission fields today (in many countries) but it provides hands on experience and training for those planning on working cross culturally. What better opportunities to relate to other cultures and get a jump start on language learning, with those who are hoping to improve their english. Many of the students who travel from Chile to study in the US do so for two reasons....the degree from a US institution which gives them a certain status, and english, which gives them a competitive edge in the local job market. Many international students are looking to improve their conversational english. We had the opportunity to spend three years around a campus and get to know students from Iran, Pakistan, China and India, among others....If we invited them for hotdogs....they came.....keep up the good work, you have no idea of how much one changed life can mean to a culture closed to the gospel.

We are honored to partner with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in international student ministry. If you are interested in getting involved with your local colleges, please go to www.missionsinmybackyard.org and we would be honored to assist you.

Nice to see you on this forum Howard! And thank you for your many years of service to international students!
