We had 77 present at the first Caleb & Co Connection dinner on May 24. Gary Appleton was our worship leader and his wife Teresa sang a special for us. Like someone said, her voice is like that of an angel. The subsequent two days were enjoyable--at least according to what I heard from the retired missionaries.

I had a poll of those present at Caleb & CO Connection who wanted to use this network but no one seemed interested. I am using it should there be an interest by others. If there is no interest in continuing on this, we'll take it off the website.

Some missionaries are aready connected by rather loose email networks that share personal information and news of out "adopted" countries. Retired and former missionaries to Viet Nam plus a few from other SE Asia countries are connected through a Viet Nam network. I believe there is a similar network among missionaries from Indonesia. I will share the news of Caleb and Co with the VN network. But perhaps you will also explain in this forum how Caleb and Co is intended to function? Those of us not able to be at Council don't know anything about it.

My Grandma is a retired missionary from S. America but she doesn't use a computer. She would love to find out more about other retired missionaries prayer requests and news, however. Being on an email chain list would work better for her than a forum b/c we could print the emails out for her and then she could read them.

Hi Marjorie,

Caleb & CO is a newsletter that comes out only twice a year and its function is to connect the retired missionaries of the C&MA as well as missionaries who have served 25 or more years on the mission field with the C&MA. Of course, this newsletter alone will not help make the retired missionaries feel connected but at least it is one way. So current missionaries would not be receiving this at all. I hope I have answered your question.

Keep the network open for discussion! Retirees in the Alliance have a wealth of info which is informative and inspirational. I would like to contribute to the discussion from time to time as the occasion presents itself. I minister mainly in he area of intercessio, and counsel, for those who need help, however that might be. I am currently writing seven books, and use poetry often to encourage others. Thanks for the Caleb and Co publication which keeps us "bonded" with each other as retirees. We need it! Pastor Bob Overstreet (76 ) (retired from Mali and Burkina Faso)
