It is exciting to see churches expanding and multiplying in many parts of our city and in villages. Most churches have at least one "annex" or another congregation in a different village. Pray for the pastors and lay leaders of these new churches, as well as international workers who train and strengthen them through teaching and discipleship.
This past month we’ve been encouraged to see and hear of several new churches. In Bobo, we worshipped with the believers at Bolibana, a church in a new section of the city. It was over ten years ago that we helped secure property in what was then a sparsely populated area in our city. Today, there are many homes, schools, businesses, and thousands of people living in this neighborhood. Pray for the leaders of this new annex church initiative, that they would be effective in reaching their community with the Gospel.
There are also new churches in the Kenedougou region. Last term a church was started in the village of Orodara.. Now, the Orodara church oversees other church groups in nearby villages. We are so encouraged by the advancement of the church here in Burkina. Please pray for these new churches full of new believers. Discipleship and leadership training is of utmost importance.
We hope to work with the district leadership to provide continuing education and encouragement of village pastors and leaders.
