Milt Pierce, former missionary to Burkina Faso, writes, “If there is beauty in age then you might say this is a beautiful old church It was built in 1937 by early missionaries before there were many people to occupy it. Over the years the local congregation grew and when we arrived in 1959 and lived in a house just a short distance from it, it was still relatively new. Like many old buildings, if its wall could talk they'd tell many stories. About fifteen years ago it was replaced by a beautiful new structure seating hundreds of people. In 2023 the Alliance church in Burkina Faso, now numbering about 700 churches, will celebrate its hundredth anniversary. This is the oldest church structure still standing and plans are underway to renew it with a new roof and restoring the walls. The church that Jesus is building is far more beautiful than any building that man can imagine."

Our CMA DNA is to be always moving forward without forgetting where we have been and what the Lord has done for us. These old church buildings remind our young people that many have walked this road before them and that we need to build well if we want to have a strong church. We are thankful for the Alliance heritage of missionaries and first believers that encourages us today.
