Someone has said that you cannot help with a burden unless you come close to burdened people. That has been at the heart of C&MA missionary work. Where are the burdened people and how do we come close so that we can help? In Burkina Faso, widows are those burdened people that we have sought to come close to and help. Our first objective and constant prayer is that these women would know the deep love of our Lord Jesus and accept Him as their Savior and Friend. Only the Lord Jesus can fill that gap left by a departing loved one. Only the Lord Jesus can stand faithful when all others turn away. We are thankful for the many that have come to know the Lord Jesus through our widows' ministry. Like Jesus, we never want to send these women home hungry, without some practical help, some tangible means of showing Christ's love. This means food, soap, clothing, and other small reminders that we care. We have also organized classes for them to learn a skill or improve farming. This past week we stood with the Santidougou widows in front of their new center which will help facilitate ministry to these women. Burdened people were a focus of the Lord Jesus, who reminds us still that it is the sick that need a doctor. Pray and support us as we come close to the burdened peoples of Burkina Faso.
