I have been going through Romans 6-8.  I have learned much about the bondage to sin and the freedom of grace.

Please pray that I will break my bondage to sin daily and take up my cross and follow Christ daily..  Right now I am walking in baby steps and wanting to walk in the next size steps.

Thank you in advance for your prayers.

Gordy

Great news:  "Bondages" that are real, they have already been broken at the Cross.  Done deal.  God's Word now opens the door for you to live that grsce gift of freedom in Christ.  How?  In prayer and dependence on the Holy Spirit, he will be applying the truth and reality of Galatians 2:20 and Romans 6:11 in your life, day by day.  Notice verse 11 has two parts, one direction from which to turn, and another direction to turn.  Not by sheer effort, but by faith, in quiet prayer and heart praise, keeping your eyes not on how you feel but on Christ and how he loves you. He has forgiven you.  He will forgive you.  He will never reject you.  Never.  Remember, Romans 6:11 is not a mechanical two step or some kind of "bondage breaking".  Not you breaking anything.  But the Spirit of God applying the reality of freedom in Christ.  You may ask: Will this prayer and taking a stand by faith work?  Yes. Christ has done it, and Christ continues to work in you and for you.  See how, in Hebrews 10:10 and 10:14.  You are on the Calvary Road in this world, not yet in heaven.  You may feel you've failed. What's new?  You are on the Calvary Road. Get up again and again.  Keep walking looking to Jesus Christ your Savior and Sanctifier.  How?  For instance, quietly sing in your heart, "Victory in Jesus", step by step. How? Not always alone by yourself.  Tell an elder or pastor in your church you need prayer for receiving what you already got in Christ.  Be curious: Ask him, what does that mean, "receiving what you already got"?  Hint: I have been on the Calvary Road for 80 years. Step by step. Heaven is next. Another hint: I used to be in an orphanage.  You don't know what "rejection" means, like me.  But you do know what being accepted, forgiven, and hugged by Jesus Christ means.  Me, too.  Hallelujah!  Praying for you, Gordon Bondage Broken.

A good reminder for all of us. Thanks Henry. And thanks Gordy for speaking honestly.
