My mother for years has been a prayer warrior for Alliance Missionaries She has been unable to pray this past year because of dementia sadly we have  had to move her to assisted living 4 months ago and it is disheartening for her and us that she is in the situation she is now in  This past week she has spent a lot of time crying because she realizes where she is but cannot communicate freely with others and finds this very frustrating  and sometimes workers do not have the time to wait her out  when she is trying to tell them something  please pray for her to adjust to this time in her life and to be patient with others even when they are not with her  she is 87 and at one time was praying for over 100 missionaries and their weekly requests and monthly newsletters  thanks so much

Wow! Your mom sounds like an amazing person. I can't imagine how hard this must be on both of you. I am praying that God will bless your mother with His abundant grace, mercy, and peace. May she have the joy of the Lord and the mind of Christ in the midst of these difficult circumstances. I pray that God will give her a spirit of contentment and that she will rest in His love and care for her.

I'm so sorry, Barbara. This is so hard for her and you.

My mom just died last September 22. She lived with me the last 5 years of her life but she had a very clear mind and was capable physically as well until the very end.

My mother in law had to move in with her daughter too. She had so much trouble with this arrangement, she would cry to my husband and me when we took her out for lunch. Then one day she read a book. Can't remember the name, but she said God talked to her through this book. She realizes she has a mission at her daughter's house too; God has work for her to do. So she became very patient with her family and I think, enjoyed herself.

I will pray for your mom. She's a precious child of God and he wants her to have his peace. I'll pray for your too. May he remove your and your mom's anxiety. And may the care givers for your mom exhibit Jesus' love to her.

oh Barbara, to hear stories of minds stolen by the fall breaks my heart! But I am agreeing in prayer that her mind would be stilled by the Holy Spirit (You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Is 26:3) and she would find ultimate and complete peace in His presence every day.

Barbara, thanks for this encouraging update! I stand in agreement with you for increasing joy and contentment.

My mother-in-law recently moved near my husband and me. She's a strong Christian, but she used to struggle terribly with feelings of irritability and discontentment, even while in church. At one point, I was getting ready to write down some Scriptures to give her on the topic of being content and not complaining. Suddenly, I felt the Holy Spirit nudging me to speak those Scriptures over her during my private prayer time, rather than give them to her to read.

The result has been nothing short of miraculous. Ever since I started speaking God's Word over her during my daily prayer time, she has been a completely different person. Even my husband has noticed. One of things I say is, "She is a new creation in Christ," and that's just what she's become.
