That is exactly what we like to hear and it is what was said by family and neighbors of a 33 year old woman who died two days ago. Orphaned from childhood, pregnant at fifteen, and becoming sick in her mid twenties, she accepted Christ and attended my Bible study before being confined to her bed. Christians visited her, prayed for her, provided money for her care, but what spoke volumes was the way they stepped in to wash the body and provide grave clothes and a casket and a service and provision to dig the grave and provide cold water and food for the family. "If it hadn't been for the Christians. . ." has been said over and over. One of the last things this woman said to her relatives was, "I am happy to die in Jesus. As long as I have Jesus, I am in peace." We praise the Lord for believers who are showing the love of Christ and making a visible difference in their communities.
If it hadn't of been for the Christians. . .

Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
It finally struck me (duh!) our understanding is finite, limited to the knowledge at hand and extrapolated to figure out various outcomes that may happen, subject to new information to be integrated with what is known. Our response choices will vary over a wide range given age, perspective, and so many other factors.
The peace of God is definitely a calming effect and I believe a sobering influence, given the increase in evil.
