Water cuts are frequent in our city, but never in July.  But there it was early Thursday morning, July 23, no water.  And, since we have just returned to Burkina Faso, I had no quantity of reserve.  That means no washing of hands.  No flushing of toilets.  No shower.  We had a team of ten men in the guesthouse and a woman in an adjoining house, who I could see making her way over to ask me what to do.  We had eighteen coming for supper.  A wave of discouragement fell over me and I wondered if I was still up for the challenges of living here.  But a short while later there came a young woman to greet me.  She asked me if I remembered her.  She had come a few days earlier with Florence, a young widow that we have helped through teachers' college.  This girl's name is Aisha and we chatted for a few minutes about her schooling, her husband, her family, and her living situation.  Aisha had heard my radio broadcasts.  As I was trying to think of the next point of conversation, she asked me, "Do you have to go to church to be a follower of Jesus?"  Suddenly, there was nothing more important, nothing that mattered except explaining the good news of salvation in Christ with Aisha.  What great joy and excitement to speak her language, to quote scripture, to begin with our common belief in God and then to share whom this God really is and what He has done for her.  There is no price too great to pay to rescue even one and bring her safely into the arms of Jesus.  Pray that Aisha will make a firm commitment to follow Christ and that she would be used to bring her whole family to salvation.

My interest include loving God, family, friends, and people I've yet to meet. I really like sports. I love to hike ( especially in the mountains), I also love the Ocean and long walks on the beach. Anywhere in the outdoors I enjoy God's creation......and spending time with Christ Jesus.
I also enjoy fellowship with my brothers & sisters at Church and all the activities that go along with that.

What an inspirational event that took place Andrew !! I will pray for Aisha, and ask Jesus to bring her into a relationship with Him. I pray that He will give her the bread of Life ( Himself ), and that she may not hunger in the spiritual sense.

I am thankful for servants like you who are open to the leading of the Holy Spirit..... and look to take care of people's needs especially spiritual ones, but also real food & water like what your original  discouragement was about. God will bless you Andrew, as you seek Him to meet your needs, and I just am so inspired by what you've shared. Here in America we are sometimes so concerned and consumed by our "perceived" needs that we fail to look to serve Christ by our love for others. If only I can focus on those that are in real need, ( like the homeless) then I can Love Jesus and others, like He has commanded us to.

Thank-you for sharing this testimony....... and know that God is using you, not only in Burkino Faso, but through your testimony to others like me in the "States". Praise God !!

     In Christ Love,
