I helped serve some people today at ahomeless shelter and ask for prayers for these people. The Lord led me to speak to several and after awhile others approached to tell their stories too. My old self would have tried to be thinking (while supposedly listening)of some big smart thing to say to impress or win But thank God for his saving grace and the death of old me because now through the holy spirit I can actually hear peoples stories and LISTEN and that is love because we all want to have a voice and we all want someone to listen >We have been given a supreme gift so we have to share right and sometimes the power to just be silent is a gift.Let our Lord lead He is so much better than me.

Praise God for letting Him use you in this way! Listening with love is a way to validate the other person and may open the doors to witness. The saying is that God gave us 2 ears and one mouth so we would listen twice as much as we talk! Listening to the Holy Spirit is the best way to be sure that when we do speak, He will give us the words to say.
