Please pray for my 27 yr. old son, Christopher. He has been battling drug addiction since he was 17 yrs. old. He was clean for approximately 3 years. He is angry with me because I did not bail him out of jail. He is sick with a Kidney Stone and a bladder infection. He has not called me for almost a week, and he has not put me on a visitor list. Pray that he is getting the proper medical attention in jail. He said he was not being treated at all. Pray for spiritual, mental, emotional healing. Pray that he gets to the root of his addictions, the "why" of his using. God Bless you all. Thank you.

I prayed for you and your son....and God hears ourprayers friend God is right there with you, sometimes we have to let go and that is sooo hard... A few years ago my son was in jail and I cried and felt so bad I couldn't even take a shower....I know your hurt but more importantly God knows your hurt, trust Him and lean on him and those in your life that love you and speak truth....

This is nonalisa again. I need prayer again for my son Christopher as he was released from jail and started using again. He stole a lot of money from me. I don't know if I should prosecute. Pray for me to have wisdom and understanding and courage. Pray for Chris to be healed of his chains.

Situations like these are tough, especially when it comes to family. There are times where we need to be there as support and there are times where all we can do is to step back and let whatever happens happen, entrusting them into God's hands. Whether you prosecute or not is between you and God, but the most important thing is to forgive and to be willing to go wherever God may lead you in this. I know I have been in some pretty scary places myself and though at the time I may not have wanted to admit it to myself, deep down I knew that what I was doing was wrong. I believe that in time your son will come around. When He does, just love him and be there for him. Listen to him and try not to judge. Judging is the quickest and easiest way to drive someone away, while showing love will naturally draw them closer. Until that time, stay strong and set your eyes on God, knowing that He is with you and will see you through this.

Thank you so much Jay. Going through this with my son (and another son who has similar issues) has caused me to not judge others. I still love my son immensely and have hope that one day he will be free. I so appreciate yours and elizabethcog's encouraging and blessed words.

A singer I know (Dave Boyer) told my parents to keep the lines of communication with my sister open so that should she come around from her rebellion she would be welcome and loved.

And that came just by his comment.

Dear nonalisa
I believe this is a time in which you will need to exercise tough love, and do the right thing. I will pray that God will give you the wisdom and strength to do what's right, even if it hurts inside.

I read of people who say that we show "tough love" in their statements. Their idea of tough love means to cut-off any communication.

If any one showing tough love is the father in Luke 15. We should follow his example.

I am praying for you, even at this tough time.

Let's think about that, Amen.
