"A betrayal of who we are"

According to Ben Feller of the Associated Press, “...President Barack Obama declared Monday night that the United States intervened in Libya to prevent a slaughter of civilians that would have stained the world’s conscience and ‘been a betrayal of who we are.’” (The Tampa Tribute) In an attempt to take the moral hight ground in defending his actions, the President said, “Some nations may be able to turn a blind eye to atrocities in other countries. The United States of America is different. And as president, I refused to wait for the images of slaughter and mass graves before taking action.” Yet, President Obama has turned a blind eye to the atrocities that continue every day in America. The slaughter of 3,3000 unborn babies a day through state sanctioned abortion continues with his tacit approval and support. How can the President overlook this stain on America’s conscience? Where is the moral outrage of his administration in the face of this injustice? Images of the violent and brutal murder of the unborn are available to anyone willing to face the reality of what is taking place (www.abort73.com). The fact is that most of America, prefer to look the other way in an apparent attempt to soothe their conscience. If President Obama’s failure to protect the 1.2 million American unborn children who lose their lives to abortion each year does not constitutes a “betrayal of who we are,” we no longer know who we are. President Obama also said, “Sometimes, the course of history poses challenges that threaten our common humanity and common security...” While not dismissing the injustice of the Libyan tragedy, may I suggest that the killing of between 40 and 50 million unborn babies worldwide each year, poses the greatest challenge to the “common humanity and common security” of America and the world.
The intervention of God's justice is inevitable, baring a move of God's Spirit leading to repentance and a spiritual revival.
