Is your heart pounding?

Posted by Don Sappington , 25 June 2012 · 1359 views

Before my eyes were even open this morning, the words were pounding in my brain, all ... all ... "ALL we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way: and the Lord hath laid on him [Jesus] the iniquity of us all." Isaiah 53:6 (KJV) Think of it, all of us have wandered down some deadly trail in a wilderness of darkness, rebelled, and totally ignored God. The sad state of affairs is that the vast majority of individuals in the world have no clue what danger lies ahead for them if they continue living life in that wilderness, in that darkness.

By God’s grace some of us have heard the good news that Jesus is the Lamb of God who came to take away the sin of the world, and we have by faith accepted His sacrifice as payment for our sins. We see that God had a plan to rescue us. The plan was not without pain: “…even though [Jesus] never hurt a soul or said one word that wasn’t true. Still, it’s what God had in mind all along, to crush him with pain. The plan was that he gave himself as an offering for sin so that he’d see life come from it – life, life, and more life.” Isaiah 53:10 (The Message) I think Jesus woke up in the mornings with His heart and mind pounding for the all … all … ALL. In one discussion with His disciples he passionately reminded them that the Father in Heaven feels the same way about one soul wandering lost in the wilderness as a shepherd does with one lamb lost from a herd of sheep. The Father and the shepherd share one characteristic in common, they would do anything, ANYTHING to get to that one lamb, lost and in danger, and bring it back to the safety of the fold. (Matthew 18:12-14) How about you? How about me? Do you wake up with the ALL pounding in your head?

So here is a great example of the need and the opportunity to reach the ALL, well at least some of them. There is currently a strategic opportunity to connect , through teaching English, with lost people in North Africa where less than 1/10th of the people know and follow Christ. Volunteers or self-funded individuals (willing to raise the needed funds for housing, travel, visas and on-the-ground costs) are urgently needed. These individuals would work alongside resident workers already on the ground. Is your heart pounding to reach these lost souls for Christ? Do you know someone who should get this information? Contact mm@cmalliance.org for additional details.

What are you doing to befriend and share with the lost around you? What are you doing to reach the lost scattered in the remote corners of the globe? Is your heart pounding?
