I have enjoyed this forum for several years now and learned about how other brothers and sisters in Christ have been walking. This has been uplifting to me and led me to read and listen for the Spirit when difficulties arise in my life. It is sad to see such a beautiful space for expression become empty. I found this forum several days after the sudden death of my wife of 39 years, 1 month, and 6 days.  The depression was deep and I was seeking some kind of reasoning.  The people here were so sweet and supportive. Even though I have never met any of you personally, I fell as though we are friends and children of God who have so much in common.

Personally, I will not leave this space because there may be another looking for some words of love as was I. Some try to turn this into something that it is not but that should not be anything new for Christians in this world. I may not always agree with everyone but I do promise this, I love you all.

I do wish everyone reading this a Merry Christmas and all the Agape love in the universe.

Charlie

Hi Charlie,
Merry Christmas to you!

I'm glad to see you are brave to venture the waters here on the forum. I have dropped off because...well, I'm sure you can guess.

As you say, this was a beautiful forum to share with other believers and receive both encouragement and reproof.

I'm so glad you're remarried and enjoying life again with a partner.

Charlie, I would love to post, but don't believe I ought to do battle with Satan --the accuser of the brethren-- here on a Christian site.

I'll think and pray on it.

Be well. Love you.
Candice

Thank you for the reply Candice. As you can see, I also had not posted for a while, and for the same reasons as you but I know that satan is the prince of this world for  now and will lurk around people who love the Lord. He needs to understand that the Lord in us is far greater than he who is in the world and attempts to make me stop saying that fact just won`t work. I know who I am in the Lord and satan`s work, wherever I am confronted by it, will not shut me up!

I remember when I was so down and miserable friends would come over and visit, fellow church members would stop by, and that was all very, very nice. But I needed something else and I found that I already had it by what happened here. There are people all over who have experienced similar tragedies, crushing blows, and depressing situations who came through with the help of the Lord. A testimony by another believer, even though you have never met personally, somehow is a wonderful, soothing thing.  This forum is a place where people who are walking daily with the Lord can make others aware of how Jesus wants us to react to Him and this world. We already know what we should do but it certainly is very helpful to hear from someone who is actually "walking the walk" with Him and learning how to "lean on" Him hour by hour.

I love all my friends here and will understand if some do not wish to confront certain ideas and personality types, neither do I, but actually that is where we are. I will not confront or argue with any, but I will do my best to tell others what Jesus means to me and what wonderful things He has done for me, a sinner saved by His grace. God knows my name, just as He knows yours, and for some unknown, magnificent reason, He loves us, has forgiven our sins, and has allowed us to ask Him to come live in us. Just how wonderful is that? I have heard many things throughout my life, some good news and some not so good, but the one thing I want to hear more than any other is   "well done my good and faithful servant, you have run the good race and fought the good fight", "come on in to my rest and have a seat"! How great a day that will be!

May God bless you all,

Charlie

Charlie,

You have a real, abiding witness for Jesus Christ. As quoting Ray Stedman....(God's Final Plan) an encouraging study on Revelation.

"There is no way to defend ourselves against Satan's accusations, no way to avoid the guilt and shame of our sinfulness, without complete reliance upon the work of the cross and the blood of the Lamb. When Jesus covers you with His righteousness [His] and makes a new creature of you, Satan has nothing left with which to accuse you. The sins of the past are dead and gone.".

Keep taking up the good fight.

I too, have missed the sharing of love, trials, and tribulations on this forum.  Thank you both for your posts.  Perhaps it is too late to offer up a Merry Christmas to everyone who in times past have posted here but I do so with a sincere heart.

Hopefully, all will have an encouraging New Year also. I work with Native American people and it is the same with them as with all people. Love wins the battles.  Not everyone will come to find Jesus as Savior and friend but through love some do and others will. May the Lord perfect His love in us all.

Often, as I have read the various posts of joy and sometimes concern I have stopped and prayed for that person and other times prayed for everyone who comes here to share. So, thank you Charlie and Candice!  Hopefully more will enjoy sharing their joys and concerns here.

Maybe we should all remember the admonition of Paul that you should work out your own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). Lord, please help me.

Amen Reader,  May God bless you for your work with the Native Americans.  We have two different tribes of Native American people around here and they have special medical problems with certain diseases. They, as all of us, need prayer and to find a special relationship with the Lord.

God`s grace is available to all of us if only we ask. We, as christians, can only give the message and leave the "heavy lifting" to the Holy Spirit. This forum, to me at least, is not a place to accuse or rant, but a place to share the joy about what God is doing for us and has already done. I get to read about how others are walking with the Lord, how they overcame, what scriptures are inspiring to them, hear how they praise God, and on occasion, hear a personal testimony about how they came to know Jesus.

I certainly do not want to confront satan here or anywhere else, because I know he is stronger than I, but I will turn it all over to Jesus who has already done the confrontation for me.....and won!

I am glad some have started to post again please do not give up that would be a win for Satan and he would love to break up the believers, after all that is Satan's job to discourage the saints and make us ineffective.

Hi Tony,
You're right but I can't share from my heart to the Accuser of the Brethren. We will see what the Lord does huh?

As I listen to some of these impeachment hearings, I remember some books by Myles Monroe about kingdoms and how they were governed. Particularly the parts about ambassadors and what their job is to be. Ambassadors are to convey the wishes of the king to the people. Not that Trump is a king, because he is not. But the role of an ambassador is to "stand in" for the leader when the leader is not present. An ambassador should have no opinion except that of his leader, on any subject. If the leader`s opinion is not known it is the ambassador`s job to find out what it is before any opinion is given. Example....Are homosexual acts a sin? Well since I am an ambassador, I have no opinion but that of my King. I don`t argue with my King, I don`t disagree with my King, and I certainly don`t represent to people an opinion that is not his and then complain that I think he is wrong!

We are all ambassadors of Christ and our job is to let others know what he says about things when we are asked. Maybe some things about how we treat each other, how we respond to a challenge to our belief, and how we live our lives while we represent our King could be said to be our role as an ambassador. What happens if we no longer act as ambassadors? Well, in the middle ages we would be recalled and beheaded, more recently we would be recalled and removed as ambassador, of late, the news media would say that the leader didn`t know what he was doing because he didn`t agree with his ambassador and maybe suggest impeachment. In our ambassadorship, we would just not enjoy all the kingdom peace, joy, and a walk with our Lord each day. We don`t lose salvation but we can lose our joy and our close relationship with our King. That is not a good place to be.

Our ambassadorship can be reinstated by asking forgiveness and continuing our faithfulness to the Lord. How good is that?

Just some thoughts on recent events here, in Washington, and overseas. Ambassadors need to be careful to do their job.

May God bless all of us as ambassadors for Christ and help us to listen for His instructions,

Charlie
