Candice,
I hear what you say and understand how you feel, but our responsibility is to proclaim who Jesus is. We tell the story and try to plan a seed, but it is the Holy Spirit who takes it from there. We seldom get to see the complete picture of someone hearing about Jesus, accepting that, and then seeing Holy Spirit work in them to complete the salvation. Oh but wouldn`t it be grand to watch all that even 10-20 times in our lives! How about 3-4 times?
I think Phil identified the problem here in the US. For anyone to be looking for a solution, they first have to know they have a problem and what that problem actually is. Most of us presenting the Gospel are explaining the solution to a problem, a lifestyle, a trouble, but many people see their lives as OK, tolerable, and not-too-good, but nothing to make them want to make any changes in how they think or what they believe in. Many developing countries have people with terrible problems and they are willing to look at most anything that possibly could change anything in their lives because they don`t see any hope of a way out. I really hate to say this, but it may take a big blow to much of the US before our people think they need devine help. My hope is that when that blow comes, these people might remember something that Candice spoke to them about a while ago. God is always the seeker and all we have to do is to respond to His love and His gentle knock at our heart`s door.
I love you sweet Candice. Keep up the good work.
Charlie
