I was reading this morning in 1 Corinthians 2 and came across this point in vs 11-16

Who knows the thoughts that another person has? Only a person's spirit that lives within him knows his thoughts. It is the same with God. No one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

Now we did not receive the spirit of the world, but we received the Spirit that is from God so that we can know all that God has given us.

And we speak about these things, not with words taught us by human wisdom but with words taught us by the Spirit. And so we explain spiritual truths to spiritual people.

A person who does not have the Spirit does not accept the truths that come from the Spirit of God. That person thinks they are foolish and cannot understand them, because they can only be judged to be true by the Spirit.

The spiritual person is able to judge all things, but no one can judge him. The Scripture says:

"Who has known the mind of the Lord? Who has been able to teach him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

When I consider this declaration, I am stunned. I have received the Spirit that is from God so that I can know ALL that God has given me. I think at times the mind of Christ has pushed through my own mind to accomplish what His desire is for that moment. But do I live here? Do I live in His truth, allowing his mind and thoughts to transform my actions? Can I really know his mind with my mind?

What does that mean to you? I'm very interested in hearing from you all!

This incredible truth is something that I am just beginning to appreciate, Marvin. In recent months, God has led me to begin every single day praying that my loved ones and I will have the mind of Christ in all things. I have also been praying that for specific problems and situations in my life. Specifically, I have prayed this for my mother-in-law as she adjusts to her recent move here from out of state, and I have seen marvelous results.

the mind of Christ to me is about my thought process and focus. Rom 12:2 help me,"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind..." is a key. Christ did not think of humanity and the world the way most do. He had a higher view of all things. My renewed mind would also think and focus somewhat like Jesus' mind did.

Paul helps in another of my favorite scriptures Php 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

I believe that unrengerate sin thoughts will always pass through human minds - scientists say we have 60000 thoughts a day, but it is what thoughts we dwell upon and act upon that set us apart. Focus upon Phil 4:8 issues will bring us to that higher place.

And another clue for me is Philippians 2:3 - lowly mind will esteem others higher than self. That is exactly what Christ does for me.

Care and concern for others is the mind of Christ. Then join the Holy Spirit and our spirit (in His likeness) and we begin to get a picture of just how majestic and divine Jesus is and what He wants us to be.

1 Corinthians 2:11-16 rings true in all Christians. When we have the Holy Spirit in us, we can finally start to understand God. So many people read the Bible and never understand it, that's because they don't have the Holy Spirit.

Nicodemus in John 3:8 is told "The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit." There is radical change in the way of our thinking and the way we live our lives when we are Christians.

We should always hear, Christians are different. Sadly I don't hear this enough in public.

Nice verse to point out.

Please provide any Scripture verses relating to whether Satan can know the mind of the believer or unbeliever.
Thanks,
Dave

I think the mind of Christ is:

He loved so much that he gave his life.

That's the mind of Christ. And it's my goal to be like him.

I have prayed for the fruit of the Spirit. When I behave showing this fruit, I believe I have the mind of Christ.

Gal. 5:22 ΒΆ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Gal. 5:23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Gal. 5:24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.
Gal. 5:25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

When I am living close to the Spirit, praying, reading scripture, praising Him, I know the fruit is there. But when I get too busy to stay close to Him, the characteristics of my Lord are not mine as much. But I am getting back to that intimacy again. Praise God.

My husband notices.

BTW, I don't believe there is any scripture that tells us Satan can read our thoughts. I don't think he can.

I want to live my life so that every morning
when I wake up Satan says, "Oh, no! She's awake!

I don't think Satan can "read" our thoughts telepathically, but it's possible that he can deduce what we are thinking based on clues we may give through our words and behavior. I don't recall seeing any Scripture verses that address this topic.

I can't think of any either, Julie. But it's worth remembering that Satan has many centuries of experience in dealing with the human race. So, although he can't read our minds, our thinking and responses are probably pretty predictable, so we can't understimate his ability to trip us up.
