Does God Have Rebellious or Disobedient Children?

Posted by Tkulp , 24 October 2017 · 570 views

{So does God have rebellious children? What does the Bible say? Are all rebellious or are some willfully blind or just ignorant of the Truth because they are not willing to sit at the feet of the Holy Spirit, with open ears, eyes, humble heart, and learn? What about you? Are you willing to carefully and prayerfully read what is written here? I pray that you are one that will not only read the Scripture that is copied here once but several times. Not just accepting the short excerpts but going to several translations and reading it from the Bible. If you are tempted to go to commentaries to help you understand, expect to hear man's wisdom, not the Holy Spirit's Truth! I am not saying that all commentaries do not have the Truth, just most of them contain error mixed in with the Truth, turning Light into Darkness. Godly wisdom into confusion or deception.}

For God's [holy] wrath and indignation are revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who in their wickedness repress and hinder the truth and make it inoperative.

For that which is known about God is evident to them and made plain in their inner consciousness, because God [Himself] has shown it to them.

For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification], [Psa. 19:1-4] Because when they knew and recognized Him as God, they did not honor and glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. But instead they became futile and godless in their thinking [with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations] and their senseless minds were darkened.

Claiming to be wise, they became fools [professing to be smart, they made simpletons of themselves]. And by them the glory and majesty and excellence of the immortal God were exchanged for and represented by images, resembling mortal man and birds and beasts and reptiles.

Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their [own] hearts to sexual impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves [abandoning them to the degrading power of sin], Because they exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, Who is blessed forever! Amen (so be it). [Jer. 2:11] Rom 1:18-25

The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests exercise rule at their own hands and by means of the prophets. And My people love to have it so! But what will you do when the end comes? Jeremiah 5:31

“What sorrow awaits my rebellious children,” says the Lord.
You make plans that are contrary to mine.
You make alliances not directed by my Spirit, thus piling up your sins...
Without consulting me you go and do... refusing to pay attention to the Lord’s instructions...

'Don’t tell us what is right.'
'Tell us nice things.'
'Forget all this gloom.'
'Get off your 'narrow' path.'
'Stop telling us about your ‘Holy One...''

This is the reply of THE Holy One...
BECAUSE you despise what I tell you... calamity will come upon you suddenly— like a bulging wall that bursts and falls. In an instant it will collapse and come crashing down...

ONLY in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength."

But you would have none of it.

So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God.

Blessed are those who wait for his help...
He WILL be gracious if you ask for help.
He will surely respond to the sound of your cries.

Though the Lord gave you adversity for food and suffering for drink, he will still be with you to teach you.
You will see your teacher with your own eyes.
Your own ears will hear him.

Right behind you a voice will say,
“This is the way you should go." (from Isaiah 30:1-2, 9-13, 15, 18-21 NLT)

Isaiah 6:8-10 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

And He said, Go and tell this people, Hear and hear continually, but understand not; and see and see continually, but do not apprehend with your mind.

Make the heart of this people fat; and make their ears heavy and shut their eyes, lest they see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their hearts and turn again and be healed.

‘I(Jesus) AM THE REAL VINE, and my Father is the gardener. Every barren branch of mine he cuts away; and every fruiting branch he cleans, to make it more fruitful still. You have already been cleansed by the word that I spoke to you. Dwell in me, as I in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself, but only if it remains united with the vine; no more can you bear fruit, unless you remain united with me.
‘I am the vine, and you the branches. He who dwells in me, as I dwell in him, bears much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing. He who does not dwell in me is thrown away like a withered branch. The withered branches are heaped together, thrown on the fire, and burnt. John 15:1-6

Beware of false prophets, who come to you dressed as sheep, but inside they are devouring wolves. [Eze. 22:27] You will fully recognize them by their fruits. Do people pick grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?

Even so, every healthy (sound) tree bears good fruit [worthy of admiration], but the sickly (decaying, worthless) tree bears bad (worthless) fruit.

A good (healthy) tree cannot bear bad (worthless) fruit, nor can a bad (diseased) tree bear excellent fruit [worthy of admiration].

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. Therefore, you will fully know them by their fruits.

Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven.

Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name? And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands]. [Psa. 6:8]

So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them [obeying them] will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock. And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.

And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them will be like a stupid (foolish) man who built his house upon the sand.
And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell--and great and complete was the fall of it. Matthew 7:15-27

Later the other virgins also came and said, Lord, Lord, open [the door] to us!
But He replied, I solemnly declare to you, I do not know you [I am not acquainted with you]. Matthew 25:11-12 {Does a virgin not represent purity, being with out sin? The oil, does it not represent the Holy Spirit? Yet Jesus says that He is not acquainted with them. Could it be the oneness that Jesus prayed for in John 17? ...an intimate relationship, the same as Jesus had with the Father? ...Jesus is to be in us, one with us, in the same way the Father was in Jesus, one with Him? }

You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy; [Lev. 19:18; Psa. 139:21-22] But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, [Pro. 25:21-22] To show that you are the children of your Father Who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and makes the rain fall upon the upright and the wrongdoers [alike].

For if you love those who love you, what reward can you have? Do not even the tax collectors do that?

And if you greet only your brethren, what more than others are you doing? Do not even the Gentiles (the heathen) do that?

You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect. [Lev. 19:2, Lev. 19:18] Mat 5:43-48

John 17:21 That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me.

{Jesus Christ living within, exactly as the Father lived in Jesus, is the only hope of Glory; no longer submitted to the senses or worldly thoughts that would influence, but totally surrendered and obedient to the Holy Spirit; only under the Spirits influence. Doing the will of Jesus and living in the image of His character should be your sustaining food. Jesus' life was to do the will of the Father!}

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1-2

And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18

Solid thoughts and very encouraging words.

I wasn't sure where to ask the question, but I am looking to get into a CMA church but I have had some concerns with youth pastors at other denominations where they just take anyone off the street and call them a "Youth Pastor". Does the CMA have any safeguards against that? Does a youth pastor have to either have a youth ministry degree or do they have to go through some process to be called a youth pastor in the CMA? Thanks for reading and hopefully responding.

Thank you for your comment.

Sorry I had not checked my emails for a couple of days, so I just found that you had commented and asked your question.

As to the C&MA policies on Youth Pastors I have no idea, as I have not attended a C&MA church in quite a few years and there are none in my area of the country.

For what it is worth, my opinion, is that a degree regarding ministry only tells you that an individual has spent the required time in the classes that are required to get the degree that they have received. Most times they have been too well trained in the doctrines of man to know the 'Truth' when they read it.

A degree tells you absolutely nothing about an individuals knowledge of the Bible, their wisdom and reliance upon the Holy Spirit to apply that knowledge. Even more important, a degree does not tell you about an individuals relationship with Jesus Christ and the spiritual fruit that there lives are producing. Jesus said that you can know the tree by the fruit it produces.

I would encourage you to pray for God's help and wisdom in finding the church that He would have you to be part of. If you trust Him He will direct you.

Generally the pastor sets the spiritual depth of the local body and the quality of the men that minister within that church.

Personally I did not leave the training of my children to the church. I trained them as I was told to in the Word of God. A child that is really trained in the Word of God at home will sometimes know more about the Bible than the teacher, who just studies for the weekly Bible lesson.

I did not receive my personal spiritual training at a church or school. I received and continue to receive wisdom and knowledge at the feet of Jesus, and His Holy Spirit.

I turned off the outside entertainment and media, sat down with the Word of God and asked God to teach me and transform me. He is continuing to do so. I spend more time now in the Word than I used to spend with the TV.

By the way, my comments do not encourage anyone to not go to church. They are to encourage reliance on the Holy Spirit as to the church that He has for them; to be full of the Spirit of the Word, Truth, and be light, a living example of Jesus Christ where ever you are directed to go. Keep your eyes, ears and heart focused on Jesus.
