Day Thirteen - Abiding is Critical to Praying

Read: Acts 10
Pray: That the gospel would go out among Cambodia, Thailand, Taiwan, South Asia, Indonesia, and Japan and for spiritual breakthroughs in these places.

Scripture clearly presents the power of prayer as well as Godís invitations to pray. I have experienced Godís healing touch and enjoyed His provisions and guidance in response to prayer. Prayer is the expression of our communion with God. It is the faith voice that allows us to see Godís loving interventions. It is the opportunity to make a difference as God unleashes His responses to our requests over matters utterly beyond us.

Knowing these realities I am intrigued as to why I donít make prayer a greater priority in my life. Part of the answer is that I am immersed in so many realms. Iím confident that I would make prayer a continuing priority if I was to fulfill Jesusí admonition, ďAbide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothingÖ If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples,Ē (John 15:4-8/NASB).

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to continuously abide in You and to bear fruit that pleases and glorifies You.

Abiding - it sounds so simple. Why do we resist it so much? Thanks for the reminder!
