JETS and Hanukah

Awake O Israel Jewish Ministries

Shalom Prayer Partners!

Contrary to the thinking of some, Jewish people are not “automatically saved” and going to heaven because they are God’s Chosen people.

All people are lost without Jesus and that includes Jewish people.

When a Jewish person objects to the Gospel and says to me, “You mean my grandfather, who was such a good man, is in hell because he did not believe in Jesus?” I say to him, “Any person who does not come to God through His way of righteousness is in danger of being separated from God forever.”
  • “Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Leviticus 17:11.
  • “There is not a just man upon the earth who does good who doesn’t sin” Ecclesiastes 7:20
  • “All of our righteousness is like filthy rags in God’s sight: Isaiah 64:6
  • “The wicked shall be cast into hell and all those that forget God” Psalm 9:17
Only .3 of 1% of Jewish people are saved. That means that only 3,000 Jewish people out of one million are saved.

HANUKAH IS COMING: It’s not the Jewish Christmas, it is the festival of Lights. Hanukah begins at sundown on December 17, our celebration and outreach will be on December 19. Pray that many of our unsaved Jewish contacts will come that night. Hanukah literally means "Dedication." It refers to the time in history, when the Jewish people under the leadership of Judah Maccabee, won their freedom from their Greek and Syrian oppressors. On the 25th of Kislev - December, 165 B.C.E./B.C., they cleansed and restored the Temple and rededicated it to God. Tradition tells us that only enough oil for one day was found when they lit the Temple menorah. However, a great miracle happened there. The menorah burned for eight days on one day’s supply of oil. So every year, beginning on the 25th of Kislev, Jewish families all over the world light candles for eight days to remember this holiday of our freedom and God's miracle. It is significant to note that Messiah Yeshua/Jesus observed this festival, also known as "The feast of Dedication" John 10:22-23. Jesus also said, "I am the light of the world. He that follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life" John 8:12.

Seattle WA Outreach: This month David Label shared how he as a Jew came to faith in Messiah Jesus and how to witness to Jewish people. Pray for David as he shares and teaches the group.

Thanksgiving will soon be here. Again we use this holiday to invite our Jewish contacts so they will hear the Messiah has come and it is Yeshua/Jesus. Pray for many to join us for dinner and our service on November 28.
George Washington's 1789 Thanksgiving Proclamation: “Whereas, it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; Whereas, both the houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness! Now therefore, I do recommend next, to be devoted by the people of the states to the service of that great and glorious being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be, that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country. Given under my hand, at the city of New York, the 3d day of October, A.D. 1789.”

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, they shall prosper that love thee” Psalm 126:6
