A scriptural perspective

Posted by Johnny , 11 February 2012 · 1297 views

Not to long ago I read a post by a few liberal minded people on another web site and the topic was, "is homosexuality a choice or not?" This inspired me to carefully examine the scriptures to determine just how some people feel they are born this way. Lets just say for the sake of this blog that people could be born this way, with a certain sexual persuasion. If this is the case then that would mean people are born as pedophiles as well. The idea or notion that God would create a person to destroy a child's life by molesting them is insane and ludicrous. So we can deduce from reason and logic that it is by choice and not by design that one is homosexual. Okay now to the scriptures, it says in Romans chapter 1 that God allows people that continually reject Him to think in a way that isn't normal and it is called reprobate which literally means rejected. Romans 1 gives some pretty clear examples of how it is a persons choice and finally God stops trying to correct them and therefore rejects them. This indeed hard to accept due to the fact that God doesn't want anyone to perish and desires for all to be saved but if a person denies the very One who Bought them then He will set them free to live for their own lusts and desires. The question also stands for "gay Christians" in the church. Let's just say you were gay before your salvation experience but afterward you still feel gay and aren't being moved otherwise then 2 Corinthians 5:17 isn't being fulfilled in your life and I would question your salvation all together. That verse plainly states that if therefore any person is in Christ then they are a "new creature or creation", old things have passed away (when I think of this phrase it makes me think of someone Passing away) and Behold all things become new. So how does one stay Gay once saved? It doesn't add up to me. The person that chooses to remain gay after they come to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is rejecting Him as Lord and He will reject them as well. I feel torn when confronted with this subject because I don't desire to alienate anyone nor do I want to discourage a person from coming to Christ. We have been commissioned to the ministry of Reconciliation and hereby must find ways to fulfill this Commission.

Johnny, this is a tough issue. I have friends who are gay, and I have walked with them through these issues. I see God's hand in their lives, bringing healing and restoration. I believe Romans 1 is talking about homosexuality, and it is a sin, but there are many wrong attitudes and actions in each of our lives, and God does not work on all of them immediately. As Philippians 1:6 reminds us, it is God who began a good work in each of us and he will carry it to completion. It is a process, and as Paul says in Philippians 3:15, 16, if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained. Each of us is in a different place, and we need to lovingly place each other in God's hands, and trust him to work in each of us. As Romans 2:1-4 says, we should not pass judgement on others since we also sin, though in different ways, and it is God's kindness which leads us toward repentance. Each of us struggles with some of the sins listed in Romans 1:29-31, and I am thankful that God has provided a righteousness apart from law, and it comes from God through faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 3:21-24.

Does CMA still believe that prayer work?

This article doesn't look like CMA still believe in the power of prayer.

i am so sad to read Arthur Hopkins, the alliance's attorney, "The alliance had no obligation to help the church get back on its feet." http://www.northjers...t.html?page=all

More sad is when I search that CMA has been goiing to court to get, not to help, distressed churches.

Everyone member of the CMA must be aware of this and call the attention beloved Gary Benedict that "SUING IS AGAINST THE WORD OF THE LORD JESUS AND IT IS NOT THE MINISTRY. HELP THE INJURED AND BATTERED CHURCHES TO BE REVIVED. CMA NEEDS REVIVAL!"
