It’s not much like Christmas!
It started this morning with wind. Mary was blown over in my nativity scene outside. Branches are down, trees are blowing, bending low, the horses are bolting, just running . And it had gotten warm! 61 degrees! And then it came. The rain. I don’t like the rain. It makes me feel melancholy. It makes mud so it’s messy to go out and tend the horses. And, today was the church seniors Christmas lunch. Getting mom into the car without getting too wet is a major accomplishment. I really didn’t want to go.
But we did. I had already bought 2 $5 grab bag gifts and wrapped them. Got to the restaurant early. The meeting room was right off the entrance so mom didn’t need to walk very far. And it was great! So glad we went. The people in that group are sweet, caring disciples of Christ. They’re so good to mom. And they tolerate me. (Just kidding-they’re really great to be with).
That turned out to be the sunshine of my day!
Isn’t it funny when you almost miss the thing that makes you the happiest?
Is. 55:6 ¶ Seek the LORD while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
