Just wanted to let everyone know that THE pulpit is here! Yes...the original pulpit from the Gospel Tabernacle at 8th and 44th St. NYC has made its way back to C&MA headquarters...only this time it's in Colorado Springs!
I went down to our shipping/receiving area the other day to see the new arrival and had a - wow, this is a big deal - moment. I just thought about all the incredible people who had stood behind it and poured out their hearts. As I grabbed the sides of the pulpit and looked out (as if I had something important to say!), I remembered men like, you know... Simpson, RA Jaffray, and William Christie who would have probably had their hands in the same place as mine during one of their compelling sermons. And then I decided to not wash my hands the rest of the day...kidding!
There is nothing very special or holy about this old wooden stand...but it is a good reminder of our incredible heritage and the message we are about - Jesus Only.
