Our local hospital in Burkina Faso is a place of sadness, despair, and tragedy. You feel the darkness as you enter. Even the hallways are littered with the sick. Children are often two or three in a hospital bed. Yesterday, that atmosphere was changed by our team of Christian women who went bed to bed distributing gift bags and praying for the sick. One little girl with burns over half her body, forgot her pain for a moment as she reached for a little pink stuffed animal that was in her gift bag. We praise the Lord for this open door to bring the mercy of Christ to those who are hopeless and sad. The laughter, the joking, even among the hospital workers was remarkable. May many realize that Jesus can permanently bring joy. May many read the brochures that were included. And may many be healed both physically and spiritually. Thank you for giving to the Great Commission Fund which allows us to go into hospitals and turn sorrow to joy.
